How do I prepare a cup of Matcha?

Sift 1-2 tsp matcha into a cup using a small sifter. Sift your matcha powder into your tea bowl, swirling the powder around the strainer with your ladle. This will ensure there are no clumps so your tea will be smooth. Add 2oz hot water. For best results use water just under a boil. Whisk in a gentle circular motion for thin, smooth tea, and in a brisk "M" or "W"-shaped motion for foamy tea. Whisk for about 10–15 seconds until the tea is bright green. Enjoy your matcha tea straight from the bowl.

Instructions

2-3 Matcha Spoonfuls

475 ml(16 oz) 75°C/170°F water for hot matcha or 295 ml (10 oz) for iced

Whisk until frothy

Sip hot or top with ice for iced matcha

4 Stars - Good

The tea is very tasty and refreshing. The only catch is the quantity which I think is too less. Otherwise, everything else is good.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Do you drink Matcha tea hot or cold?

we like it hot. But not TOO hot, because excessive heat kills it. We find that the optimal temperature for matcha is roughly 175f / 80c. You can go cooler than that, but you really can't go hotter than that.

  • What is the best time to drink Matcha tea?

The Best Time to Drink Matcha Tea A gentle lift first thing in the morning. A mindful approach to a mid-day meeting. A nice pick-me-up as the afternoon wanes. A calorie burning boost for your workout. A time for calm contemplation or meditation. A time to focus or be creative.

  • Is Matcha good for weight loss?

Matcha has the ability to boost your immunity, control your stress and assist with weight loss all from one simple drink. Matcha works as a fat blocker. A compound in matcha called EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) has been shown to boost metabolism and stop the growth of fat cells.

  • Is it OK to have Matcha every day?

About 5.5 cups of matcha per day is safe to drink. Five cups of matcha should be enough to keep you energized throughout your day. Caffeine tends to be addictive so drinking too much of it can lead to unpleasant withdrawal symptoms if you ever stop drinking it.

  • Where is your matcha sourced from? Is it organic (free from pesticide residue, etc)?

Hi. Our matcha is sourced from Gotemba, Shizuoka, Japan.

Yes it is organic, backed by JAS certificate of our supplier. However, we are not certified organic by FSSAI, hence its not mentioned on the packaging.

  • Does this contain added sugar? I prefer bitter pure matcha without sugar but many brands who sell matcha actually add loads of sugar in it without informing the customers. I hope TTS isn’t one of them and sells 100% pure matcha powder. :)

Hi, our matcha is 100% pure unadulterated matcha powder without any sugar.
