Tea Smoothie Recipes to beat the Summer Heat

With the days getting hotter, we at The Tea Shelf head office are shaking off the heat with some of the coolest drinks this summer. While classic iced black tea will always be a summer favorite, we suggest you beat the heat this season with a Tea Smoothie.

A hot meal during a hot summer day is not always appetizing. At such times find comfort in a glass of chilled tea smoothie. Not only is it more pleasing to the palette but also comes power packed with nutrition and energy.

Classic Black Tea Smoothie
You can pick from an array of fruits like blueberry, strawberry, papaya or peaches and combine with black tea to make a delicious smoothie. But our top pick is the king of fruits- Mango.

Brew a cup of Mahadeobari Premium Assam Black Tea and chill it the freezer. Blend together the chilled black tea, season fresh mangoes, 1/2Tsp grated ginger and a dash of cinnamon. Feel free to add some honey to sweeten it to your liking. You may find a new summer favorite in this classic black tea smoothie.

Berry Banana Matcha Smoothie
Packed with antioxidants and known to boost metabolism, Matcha, a powdered green tea, is a winner when it comes to making smoothies. This matcha smoothie recipe will definitely find its place at your breakfast table.


1 Cup Milk
1 Ripe Banana (cut into pieces)
1 Cup Frozen Berries
1 Tea spoon Matcha Assam Green
1 Ice cubes

Blend the banana pieces and the berries with ice cubes first and follow it with milk and matcha powder. Blend until smooth. The milk, fruit and matcha combo has enough fibers and protein to kick start your day.

Peach Green Tea Smoothie
Green tea is widely used in making iced teas and smoothies. The trick while blending it into a smoothie is to just freeze brewed green tea into ice cubes. This peach green tea smoothie is a delightful summer cooler.


1 Cup brewed Chamomile Green Tea (freeze it into ice cubes)
1 Cup frozen Peaches
1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt
1 Tea spoonHoney
1/2 Tsp grated ginger

Put together all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
