Alishan (Mt. Ali) is one of, if not the most popular tourist areas in Taiwan and is traditionally revered by as Taiwan’s best tea. The high altitude of 1400-1800 meters, low temperatures, and misty mountain offer the ideal condition for growing high mountain tea, and the water used for irrigation is from pure mountain springs. The tea plantations are nestled in a beautiful scenic area with a 1000 year old forest nearby. Alishan tea is characterized by its sweet fragrance with overtones of flowers and fruit.
